Thank you for this opportunity to assist you. I'm an experienced teacher/tutor who loves the challenge of helping students surmount learning hurdles. To me, the tutoring experience is a wonderful setting for students to zero in on problem areas and prove to themselves that nothing is impossible.
A lot of my educational career has been spent helping teens and adults improve their basic, intermediate, and advanced skills in reading, writing, and English grammar. I have a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature, as well as many Master's level courses in the same area. Additionally, I have taken many post-graduate level teaching courses to improve reading skills. I have taught high school language arts in various settings.
Also, since I taught GED classes for many years, I am very proficient in helping students prepare for tests. Because I often taught all areas of the GED, I have become very good at teaching high school math through beginning algebra, science, and social studies as well, though I am not certified in those areas. However, I have a proven track record of helping students prepare for and pass tests.
I believe my greatest skill is in establishing a trusting and respectful relationship with every student. Without good relationships, learning is less likely to occur.
