Hello. I am Marla. I have a M.S.A. with a Public Administration concentration and a B.S. in Business Administration with a Marketing concentration. I have extensive experience in public service through my many years of working in case management. I also served ten of those years in the capacity of a Family Independence Specialist/Success Coach working in two public schools. This gave me the opportunity to expand my knowledge of working in a learning environment. In addition to this experience, I have volunteered as a tutor at my previous church, assisting elementary school children in various subjects.

In addition, early in my employment career, I taught a Professional Development class in my position as a Placement Coordinator, teaching resume writing, cover letter writing, and conducting mock interviews. I also taught a job-seeking skills workshop during my public service experience as an Employment Specialist,

My tutoring and instruction approach consists of 'I Can' statements, the pause procedure and I have used fast-paced drills. I have also requested feedback and use it constructively. I am able to utilize many of the skills I have cultivated including communication skills, patience, time management, customer service, empathy and active listening skills. I also work to maintain positivity in my interactions.

I will work diligently to provide the best tutoring experience I am capable of to help you succeed in your studies. I love learning and sharing my knowledge to assist others. I am available to tutor grade school subjects such as math, reading, social studies, English or to tutor those working towards a G.E.D.
