Hi, I’m Grace!

I’m a working environmental scientist who loves bringing real-world science into tutoring sessions. I help students see how what they’re learning in class connects to actual fieldwork, environmental problems, and everyday applications - because science makes a lot more sense when it feels real.

I tutor middle school through college-level students in science, with a focus on helping you build confidence, improve grades, and actually understand the material (not just memorize it). Whether your goal is boosting your GPA, mastering tricky concepts, or earning a strong AP Environmental Science score, I’m here to help you get there.

I graduated summa cum laude from Valparaiso University in 2022 with a dual major in Environmental Science and Geography and a minor in Biology. I currently work as an environmental quality analyst for the State of Michigan, and I’ve also worked for the State of Wisconsin, interned with the U.S. Forest Service, and worked as a cave guide - which, honestly, was as fun as it sounds. I also scored a 5 on AP Environmental Science exam.

Along the way, I’ve built a lot of teaching and mentoring experience, including working as a supplemental instructor for college biology, a teaching assistant for earth science/geomorphology, and a cave and karst interpreter. Across all of these roles, I’ve developed a knack for breaking down complex topics into clear, manageable ideas.

My approach is supportive, practical, and flexible. I’m a bit of a study-skills enthusiast, so I don’t just help with content - I also help you figure out how to study more effectively.
