I was never the student who was naturally ahead in Math. I learned through years of hard work and practice with tutors guiding me along the way. Because of this I know how frustrating math can be. I want to be the reason students walk into test day or the next lecture prepared and confident.

I am currently a college student pursuing my BS in Civil Engineering with an AS in Math and Science. My college math journey started with High school level review and then progressed up to Calculus. This is where I learned to love math and its true power it can give you when you know how to use it well. I currently hold a 3.97 GPA and I am a proud member of the Honor Society Thi Pheta Kappa. I am also am the Vice president of the Students Veterans of America chapter of my school.
While I do not have any formal tutoring experience, I on a weekly basis help students in my classes with test prep for free. I also worked one-on-one with a family member through a structured study sessions weekly covering prep for the Accuplacer Math resulting in a high score. I have received positive feedback from students I have helped, especially for my ability to break down topics and my enthusiasm.
I usually work with students of high school to college age, but I am willing to work with any age range. My teaching style focuses on building a strong foundation. I believe that being good at math is about having a very strong starting point, without it you will never be able to fully understand the next steps because math compounds on itself. I will build this strong foundation for them through practice applications, visual aids and representations of what the math actually means, and problem solving tactics for when they encounter a problem they have not seen they will be able to solve it through reasoning.
