I believe that learning can be fun and enjoyable while educational, and I make sure that my goal at the end of the session is for the child to walk away with an understanding of the material being taught.
I love seeing that light bulb go off, and the eyes light up when a child "gets it". I believe in developing a trusting and secure learning environment so that the child feels free to communicate his or her ideas, struggles, likes and dislikes on the subject matter. I work and talk with the child, not at the child. Children have been a part of my life since I graduated high school, and now that I have a child of my own and have graduated from college, I want to be involved in helping children learn and grow for many years to come! They are our future, and I want to be a positive role model in their lives and help them in any way that I can.
