I am a high school social studies teacher currently teaching grades 9–12 in Michigan, with experience working with a wide range of learners, including accelerated students and those with IEPs or 504 plans. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a focus in Social Studies from Eastern Michigan University, and I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Educational Policy and Leadership at American University, where I maintain a 4.0 GPA. My academic background and classroom experience have given me a strong foundation in U.S. history, civics, and analytical writing.

In my classroom, I regularly teach and assess writing through DBQs, research papers, and argumentative essays. I provide detailed, individualized feedback to help students improve their organization, clarity, and use of evidence. I also design rubrics and structured writing supports that guide students through each step of the writing process—from brainstorming and outlining to drafting and revision. In addition to content knowledge, I focus heavily on helping students build confidence in their writing and critical thinking skills.

I have experience working with students in both whole-class and small group settings, as well as providing individualized support to help students stay on track and meet their goals. My approach to tutoring is supportive, structured, and tailored to each student’s needs. Whether a student is looking to improve their essay writing, prepare for an exam, or better understand social studies content, I aim to make learning clear, manageable, and engaging.

I am a certified secondary social studies teacher currently teaching high school courses that include civics, government, economics, and U.S. history. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies and Political Science from Eastern Michigan University, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Educational Policy and Leadership at American University. My coursework and classroom experience have provided me with a strong foundation in American government, political systems, constitutional principles, public policy, and political theory. In my teaching role, I regularly help students analyze government institutions, public policy issues, Supreme Court cases, and current political events using evidence-based discussion and writing. I also have experience guiding students through research projects and argumentative writing assignments that require source evaluation, policy analysis, and critical thinking. My tutoring approach focuses on helping students not only understand political concepts, but also develop the analytical and writing skills necessary for success in government and politics courses.
