Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile! I’m a published writer, award-winning poet, and the Northwest Indiana Poet Ambassador. My work has appeared in national literary journals, and I serve as the founding editor of a student literary magazine. I’ve also attended selective writing programs at the University of Iowa and Washington University in St. Louis, which gave me advanced training in both creative and academic writing. These experiences, along with my editorial background, allow me to help students develop stronger reading comprehension, literary analysis, and writing skills.
Beyond my own writing, I’ve worked directly with students as a camp counselor and director, where I led groups of elementary and middle school students, and at my school where I run clubs for high schoolers. I also mentor peers on essays and creative projects. My approach is supportive but structured: I break assignments into clear steps, teach brainstorming and organization strategies, and give feedback students can apply immediately. Because I’m close to the student experience, I understand how overwhelming English assignments can feel—but with the right tools, they become manageable and even enjoyable. My goal is to help every student build confidence, clarity, and independence in their reading and writing.
