I have experience as an educator at the secondary and University levels, and have mentored, coached, and trained learners of all ages in in a wide range of subjects, helping them to master concepts and subjects that had seemed uninteresting or impenetrable, and develop skills to maximize their potential in learning, doing, and scoring.
Trained at the University of Michigan and Cornell University in English Language and Literature and as a medievalist, I have written, edited, and proofread everything from school papers to newsletters, corporate training documents, biographies and promotional materials, CD liner notes, press releases, policy and procedure manuals, and much more. I have published music reviews and feature articles for over 15 years in internationally distributed publications.
If you want to master grammar and style, learn to read closely, brush up your history, or increase your appreciation of American popular music, I am ready to help. My schedule is entirely flexible and I look forward to working with you to understand your goals, establish an appropriate pace, and design a learning plan that will enable you to achieve the results you want. Enthusiasm, patience, focus, and open communication are hallmarks of my approach. I try to make sure learning is enjoyable, even fun. While I do not take myself at all seriously, your success is extremely important to me.
