Hello to all young astronauts and lawyers and comedians that have made it to this page! I'm very excited for the opportunity to provide you with all the help you need to excel!
Being an active member of the National Honor Society in my Junior year of High School, I've enjoyed the opportunity to tutor students grades K-12+. I primarily tutored in Foreign Language, Mathematics, and the Sciences. I've tutored in the classroom, as well as in the home setting. I enjoyed tutoring so much that after graduating Summa Cum Laude in High School, I signed up with the Tutoring Center at my local community college and spent an additional 2 years tutoring in similar subjects. By the time I graduated High School, I had completed half of my Associates degree thru Dual Enrollment and Advanced Placement opportunities. The extra time spent at college allowed me to take advantage of relatively cheap courses to expand my understanding.
In tutoring, I find the Socratic approach of asking the student questions to be the best method of gauging their knowledge of a subject and directing their thinking to inspire interest in the material. While I've witnessed tutors catering their lessons to simply satisfy the curriculum, I would seek to accomplish an extensive understanding of the material before applying it to the lessons. I do take my role seriously and encourage students to master their subjects, but I understand that time is often limited and that it's difficult to know how much time one needs to prepare. That said, my lessons are tailored to the relevant time constraints and individual needs of those I tutor. I've worked with honors students who just needed a nudge to make it to that Ivy League school they envisioned themselves attending, and I've tutored Middle School students who were in danger of being held back another year.
I respond quickly, and I will always be willing to consult with you, free of charge, to determine if we're a good fit. When you're ready to get started, don't hesitate to reach out.
