I am currently an undergraduate student at Central Michigan University studying Spanish and Child Development. I have completed Spanish 101, 102, 201, 202, and I am currently enrolled in Spanish 331WI. I also participated in a short-term study abroad program Perú, where I practiced Spanish with local Peruvians daily. Through my Spanish coursework, I am continuing to develop my knowledge of Spanish grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and conversation. I would estimate my current Spanish proficiency to be between the B1 and B2 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
I am interested in helping beginner students, particularly middle school, and early high school students, who need additional support in understanding class material such as, but not limited to, verb conjugations, gender agreement, present tense, and vocabulary.
My approach to tutoring would be supportive, patient, and proactive. My goal is to help students understand concepts and build confidence. I would break down challenging concepts for students, provide examples, and practice with the student to foster language comprehension.
Although I am new to formal tutoring, I have a strong passion for the Spanish language, and I am eager to help students build a strong foundation in Spanish and feel more confident in their coursework and Spanish comprehension.
