Hi, I’m Bobby! I have over fourteen years of experience teaching and tutoring in subjects including logic, philosophy, writing, mathematics, and project management. I hold a PhD in Philosophy, a Master’s in Neurophilosophy, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education. Early in my career, I was a certified high school mathematics teacher in Michigan, where I also coached debate and public speaking. Since then, I’ve taught philosophy and logic at Duke and Georgia State, mentored students in research and writing, worked as a professional editor, data analyst, and am currently a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and published author.

My goal as a tutor is to help you meet your goals. If you’re preparing for a test, I’ll give you structured, step-by-step support. If you’re working on a paper, I’ll guide you from brainstorming through revision. If you want to strengthen skills in reasoning, writing, or project management, I’ll tailor sessions to your needs and learning style. No matter where you’re starting from, I focus on building both confidence and competence so you can carry these skills forward long after tutoring.

Whether you need help with philosophy, logic, writing, math, or project management, I’d be glad to work with you. Feel free to reach out with questions or to schedule a lesson. I look forward to helping you succeed!

Essay Writing

I am an experienced educator with 14+ years of teaching at both the high school and college levels. My background includes work as a certified high school mathematics teacher in Michigan, where I also served as a Writing Across the Curriculum coach and worked as a standardized test writing prep tutor for the ACT and SAT. At Duke University, where I earned my PhD in Philosophy, I taught courses that emphasized argumentative writing and guided students in crafting persuasive essays for both the sciences and humanities. As a published author of peer-reviewed articles and a co-authored philosophy book, I understand the challenges of the writing process from the inside. My teaching emphasizes helping students develop clear thesis statements, construct and defend arguments, and refine their style to produce essays that are both well-structured and compelling. I focus on making the writing process approachable, organized, and effective for learners at every stage, from high school through college.
Geometry

I am an experienced educator with more than 14 years of teaching at both the high school and college levels. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education and a state teaching license in secondary mathematics, and I spent five years as a high school math teacher in Michigan. During that time I taught geometry along with other core math courses, working with students to strengthen both their problem-solving skills and their confidence. I have also tutored high school and undergraduate students in mathematics, helping them connect geometric concepts to broader reasoning and proof techniques. My approach emphasizes clarity, patience, and step-by-step strategies so that geometry becomes logical and approachable rather than intimidating, preparing students for success in advanced math.

At Duke, where I earned my PhD in Philosophy, I taught courses in logic, critical thinking, and argumentation, and I also completed advanced graduate coursework in symbolic and mathematical logic. At Georgia State, I both taught and tutored freshman logic and critical thinking. My teaching emphasizes helping students master propositional and predicate logic, construct rigorous proofs, identify fallacies, and analyze arguments across disciplines. I focus on making abstract logical concepts clear, approachable, and useful for learners from high school through college.

My teaching emphasizes helping students interpret complex texts, construct and evaluate arguments, and connect ideas across traditions from ancient to contemporary. I focus on making abstract philosophical concepts clear, approachable, and meaningful for learners at every stage, from high school through college.

With a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education and a state license in secondary mathematics, I have taught high school courses and also tutored students at both the high school and undergraduate levels. Working with learners in different settings has shown me how important it is to meet students where they are and adapt to their needs. In pre-algebra, I emphasize patience, clarity, and confidence-building, helping students break down problems step by step and recognize the patterns behind the numbers. My goal is always to make pre-algebra approachable and supportive so students feel prepared to succeed in higher-level math.
