From my years of education, I have developed an interdisciplinary approach when teaching. English and history should not be taught in a void. For the last decade, I have been a substitute teacher thought Tuscola County in grades 6-12. Often in those settings, I take on the role of a paraprofessional or an inclusion teacher. As a result, I have experience teaching students from a variety of abilities and backgrounds in a more one-on-one setting. In addition, I have covered meetings for grades as low as kindergarten and have some experience teaching those grade levels as well.
Finally, I am the father of a second-grade girl who has autism. Through working with her on various assignments, I have learned a high degree of patience. I have come to respect that all people have different ways of learning. My goal is to find the Indvidual's strengths and build from those strengths.
