Hi, my name is Edmond and I am a rising sophomore Economics student at the University of Michigan, where I have a 3.6 GPA. I have completed coursework in Statistics, Introductory Economics, Business Analytics, and college-level writing, which gives me a solid base to help high school and intro college students in economics, math, and statistics. I have a strong interest in finance, statistics and wealth management, so I bring genuine passion to the subjects I tutor and not just surface level knowledge.
I graduated with a 4.61 GPA from Mattawan High School where I tutored through the National Honor Society as well as a number of family friends over the course of several years. I worked with students one on one across a range of subjects including math, economics, and writing, and saw a lot of success with students who had been struggling before we started working together. My tutoring approach has always been to explain things as simple as possible first and then work through problems together until the student can actually do it on their own. I never just hand someone the answer because I think that defeats the whole point of tutoring.
I work best with students from middle school through intro college level, especially ones who feel stuck or frustrated with material that feels too abstract. In my experience most students are more capable than they think, they just need someone to explain things a different way. I am patient and I genuinely care about making sure every student I work with leaves each session feeling more confident than when they came in.
