I have a Bachelor in Business Administration and Master of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting which is why I specialize in Math. Since completing my Elementary Education Certificate for the State of Michigan, I have been able to successfully implement my teaching practices in my classroom. Over the last year, I have grown professionally working on my LETRS certification.

I think I bring a unique, yet structured teaching style into the classroom. My students know when it’s time to have fun and when it is time to buckle down and get serious. I try to approach each day with an open mind and a joyful demeanor. I believe that a positive environment creates positive results! I try to bring out the best in my students and help them find the best versions of themselves. My greatest compliment that I received from a parent was that I made their child LOVE school again! These are the ways that I want to be remembered and impact students’ lives.

My classroom experience ranges from 3rd grade to 8th grade. Currently, I teach 6th grade math and science. The favorite part of my whole day is when a student has that “ah-ha” moment, you high five them and say YES you got it! As much as I love being in the classroom, I miss tutoring students and seeing this happen on a one-on-one basis. I organized the tutoring program at my previous school for two years so I have extensive tutoring experience. While I have tutored all subjects for K – 8th grade, I love to focus on helping students with math. I like to help them find the method that works best for their brains! I look forward to being able to help students be the best versions of themselves outside of the classroom while tutoring through Wyzant.
