Hello! I’m Pilar, a native Spanish speaker and experienced educator from Chile.
I hold a Master’s degree in Spanish Language and Culture from Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, and a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a concentration in ESL for High School from the University of Bio-Bio. I am currently a State-Certified Spanish (FF K-12) and ESL teacher in Michigan, with extensive experience working with both children and adults at various proficiency levels.

Helpful Classes and Very fun!
Pilar is an excellent tutor if you are looking to pass any Spanish test. I needed help for a Spanish CLEP test coming up. I haven’t taken Spanish In the last 3 or 4 years and thanks to Pilar I feel as confident as ever. Highly recommended.

We went over two of my writings and Pilar gave me great suggestions to improve my writing, including the use of reflexive verbs and present perfect tenses. We also read together an interview and she monitored the interviewer for me. I would definitely continue to work with her!

I had an excellent Spanish lesson with Pilar. I was able to share with her ahead of time my goals for learning Spanish. I hope to become fluent as well as become a medical interpreter. She researched ahead the requirements for me, and customized our first lesson so that she could gauge where I was at regarding my conversation levels, as well as begin the stepping stones for what's needed to pass my interpreter test. I am very pleased with the overall experience and look forward to more lessons with her. Highly recommend her!
