Hello. I'm Dara! I received my master's degree from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, and Bachelor's degree (magna cum laude) from George Mason University. My motivation for teaching and tutoring others started back in my college days. I was always eager to learn the reasoning behind various concepts taught in class. I realized then that learning a variety of tools and techniques would be very helpful in understanding complex matters. Adding our new learnings to our "toolbox" helps us learn other, more complicated things. My goal is to teach students creative ways of approaching problems, analyzing, and ultimately solving them. I always like to give students the opportunity to express their creative ideas and solutions first, before I suggest any new techniques.
I have extensive tutoring experience from both private tutoring and college level. I've tutored several hundred people from a diverse age, education, and social background. I love meeting new people! I also have over a decade of industry engineering experience. Math has always been one of my favorite subjects. So much of it is applicable to multiple facets of our lives (work and non-work related).
I welcome any input from my students (or their parents) regarding preferred methods or resources that would facilitate their learning and success. I will do my best to respond to inquiries promptly. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or to schedule a session.
I look forward to working with you!
