Bio

I am a paraprofessional working with middle school students in Grand Ledge but I have also served as a guest teacher for K-12 schools in the Grand Ledge, Lansing, and Waverly School Districts.

About me:
I like to work smarter, not harder. My favorite subjects would be math (especially Algebra!) and science but I do like reading and improving essays and college applications. I enjoy teaching people that are open and willing to learn new things with me. I prefer to know about your problems...

I obtained my certificate from Santiago Canyon College, Orange, CA last June 2014 for Introduction to Desktop Publishing using Adobe InDesign. We created flyers, cards, pamphlets, etc. I have been using Adobe Illustrator and similar programs for years to create maps and figures and this program is very similar to me. Thus, my confidence in tutoring this subject is quite high.

I have a BS Geology degree and have worked as a university research associate for about 2 years wherein I was constantly conducting geological fieldworks that aimed ton unravel the geology of our study area. I have experience in conducting geophysical surveys and preparing samples for geochemical analysis. I was trained in a multi-disciplinary approach when it comes to understanding the geological history of a site.

I used Microsoft Access to create a database of the electronic publications for a Working Laboratory. It is still being used today and has made accessing scholarly articles easier for the laboratory by simply typing in the author's name or the title of the article.

I have intermediate expertise in using Microsoft PowerPoint since I have been using it during my college years (2005) up to now for conducting oral and video presentations in multiple conferences (local and international) as well as teaching. I currently use a Mac and have basic knowledge on KeyNote.

I deal with different media. From chalk, to charcoal, to regular pencil sketches. I also use acrylic paints and scented wax among other things. I can send a portfolio as needed. I have certification in using Adobe Products (Photoshop and Blender 3d modeling). I use Wacom Intuos for digital art.
