School didn’t always come easily for me, and I had tutors throughout high school and college who made a huge difference in my confidence and success. Sometimes I needed help understanding the material; other times, I needed someone to keep me accountable and focused. Having that support made learning feel less stressful and far more rewarding, and it taught me that everyone learns in their own unique way.
In college, I discovered my passion for environmental and life sciences and eventually began tutoring those subjects myself — including biology, ecology, environmental science, and general study skills. I graduated in 2023 with a degree in Environmental Studies and Sustainability and a minor in Biology. Since then, I’ve worked in several scientific roles and currently serve as a hydrologic technician with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). These experiences have strengthened both my scientific knowledge and my ability to explain complex topics clearly and patiently.
Even though I have a full-time career in science, tutoring continues to mean a lot to me because I know firsthand how valuable a positive learning experience can be. My approach focuses on meeting each student where they are — understanding their learning style, pacing, and goals — and helping them build confidence through small, steady progress. Whether a student needs help mastering difficult science concepts, preparing for exams, or improving study habits, I strive to make learning approachable, engaging, and empowering.
