I am a physician assistant (PA) with a vast knowledge of math, science, and language. I was a teacher before becoming a PA, and, in fact, was a tutor on this platform many moons ago. Prior to a carrier in medicine, I worked as an independent scholar and teacher apprentice for 11 years, instructing adults in English grammar and composition, and formal Aristotelian logic. In addition to that, for three of those years I taught mathematics, both regular and honors level, for a private high school in downtown Chicago.
I have an extensive educational background, having completed an undergraduate degree in mathematics at Grand Valley State University here in Michigan, a post-baccalaureate pre-medical studies program at Loyola University in Chicago, and a master's of physician assistant studies at MCPHS University in Manchester, New Hampshire. I acquired my exceptional knowledge of English grammar and composition during my tenure as a scholar and teacher apprentice for a small, independent school for the liberal arts in downtown Chicago called The Feltre School.
Mathematics was my first love, so to speak. And having acquired a rather strong command for the use of language, I am uniquely qualified to be able to explain in plain English many of the complex, and often times confusing, ideas that mathematical concepts can and do present.
In addition to my knowledge and understanding of both math and language, I also have been trained in the medical sciences, which include biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy, biochemistry, pathophysiology, etc. And in my spare time, I am an avid reader with interests ranging from fiction, to science, from religion and spirituality, to philosophy. I am confident that you will find me to be an effective instructor with a vast amount of knowledge about many different subjects.
