Hi, I'm Jayme! In 2021, I graduated summa cum laude with an Associate's degree in Mathematics. My love for math began in high school, where I was fortunate to have teachers who made learning both fun and engaging. They had a talent for breaking down complex concepts into simple, understandable steps, and their supportive teaching style inspired me to pursue math further. I strive to bring those same qualities into my tutoring sessions. I enjoy finding creative ways to explain challenging topics in a way that feels intuitive and approachable. I also recognize that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to fit each student's individual needs and learning preferences.
Since graduating, I have worked in several math-related roles, including private tutoring, creating educational math videos, and editing digital math curriculum. Through these experiences, I have helped students understand concepts ranging from middle school math through college algebra while also contributing to educational materials designed to make math more accessible and engaging. I have worked one-on-one with middle school, high school, and college students in both online and in-person settings, both privately and through tutoring companies such as Pear Deck Tutor and NetTutor.
I believe math makes the most sense when it is explained in a simple, straightforward way. My tutoring style is casual and conversational, and I enjoy breaking difficult concepts into smaller, manageable steps. The subjects I have tutored include middle school math, pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and college algebra. Some students come to me for homework help, while others want to strengthen foundational skills or prepare for upcoming tests. Whether a student is looking to improve their grades, build confidence, or gain a deeper understanding of math, I enjoy helping them reach their goals.
