Hello! I’m Lauren, a certified middle school science teacher from northern Michigan with over five years of classroom experience. I help students strengthen their understanding of science, math, reading, and writing through patient, step-by-step instruction that builds both confidence and curiosity.

I hold dual bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Human Services and earned my teaching license through Schoolcraft College. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Secondary Biology Education at Western Governors University, where I’ll graduate in December 2025. I have student-taught in a high school Environmental Science classroom and completed graduate-level coursework in the subject as part of my master’s in Secondary Biology. I also have five years of experience teaching middle school Earth Science and have completed advanced coursework in Genetics, exploring topics such as heredity, gene expression, molecular biology, and biotechnology. My background in psychology gives me a strong foundation in learning strategies and motivation — helping me reach students of all abilities and learning styles.

Over the years, I’ve worked with learners from elementary through high school, both one-on-one and in small groups. I specialize in breaking down complex ideas into simple, real-world examples, using visuals and questioning techniques that help students truly understand the “why” behind the lesson.
