I hold a bachelor’s degree in education from Saginaw Valley State University and recently earned my master’s degree from Grand Canyon University in 2025. I am a certified elementary teacher and have spent the past three years teaching in a public school setting, including two years in third grade and my current role in fourth grade. My educational background and classroom experience have provided me with a strong foundation in teaching reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as supporting diverse learners with varying academic needs.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students in whole group, small group, and one-on-one settings. I regularly differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs, including supporting students with IEPs through accommodations such as text-to-speech, guided reading, and targeted skill intervention. My approach focuses on building confidence, breaking skills into manageable steps, and using engaging, hands-on strategies to help students make meaningful progress. I also prioritize creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking risks.
I have experience working with elementary students across a range of ability levels, particularly in grades three through five. In addition to classroom instruction, I have provided individualized support to students who need extra help in reading comprehension, fluency, and foundational math skills. My goal as a tutor is to meet students where they are, help them grow academically, and build the confidence they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
