Hello! I am Paula Grech. I am a working RN (and lead preceptor) and EMT-P (paramedic). I graduated from my nursing program with honors. I specialize in tutoring and preparing students for the NCLEX and NREMT (EMT and Paramedic) exams.

I love teaching and coaching students using creative methods. You won't get a boring PowerPoint presentation from me! Do you like storytelling, videos, and podcasts? Do you like mnemonics and drawings? I do, too!

I find the best way to remember what I have learned (in addition to practicing it) is to teach it. I am a new hire preceptor where I work. I instruct and mentor nursing and EMT/paramedic students in pharmacology, pathophysiology, anatomy, and physiology using a variety of methods including live online explanation and demonstration, mnemonics, illustrations, online video, and podcasts/audio. In addition, I can teach you study methods so you can learn in line at the grocery store and reinforce the information in your sleep! All the techniques I teach I used myself with great success. I passed National Registry at the paramedic level twice (you may retest instead of completing CEs) and NCLEX on the first try with 75 questions. I can practice skills stations with you, teach you NCLEX or NREMT strategies, work on your weaknesses and teach you how to memorize large amounts of info to pass your exams! You can do it!

EMT/ NREMT

EMT/ NREMT

As a Registered Nurse (with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing) and working paramedic (EMT-P) with over a decade of hands‑on emergency experience, I specialize in helping EMT and Paramedic students think clinically, apply assessment skills, and pass the NREMT exam with confidence. My goal is to take complex prehospital concepts—like airway management, trauma care, cardiac rhythms, and neonatal resuscitation—and make them clear, logical, and memorable. My background includes advanced certification and clinical expertise in multiple disciplines that directly support exam success and field readiness: I am TNCC certified (Trauma Nursing Core Course). I am well-versed in evidence‑based trauma assessment and management, including rapid primary surveys, hemorrhage control, and prioritization in multi‑system injuries—skills essential for trauma scenarios on the NREMT. I am ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certified. This means I have a comprehensive understanding of pediatric emergencies, focusing on age‑specific assessment, respiratory distress, and shock management in children. NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Proficiency in neonatal airway management, positive‑pressure ventilation, and post‑resuscitation care—crucial for those treating infants in prehospital or emergency settings. I am ACLS (Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support) & BLS (Basic Life Support) certified, which means I have a strong foundation in adult cardiac arrest algorithms, rhythm recognition, defibrillation, and team dynamics for all levels of emergency response. In tutoring, I combine real‑world field experience with a tailored test‑taking strategy. My sessions emphasize critical thinking, evidence‑based reasoning, and confidence under pressure—the same skills that separate competent responders from great ones. Whether you’re preparing for your NREMT cognitive or psychomotor exam, or simply want to strengthen your airway, trauma, and medical knowledge base, I’ll help you bridge the gap between textbook learning and real‑world applicati
HESI (Nursing exam)

HESI (Nursing exam)

I’m a Registered Nurse (RN) with over six years of emergency and critical‑care experience, specializing in helping future nurses prepare for the HESI Admission Assessment (A2) exam. I combine real‑world clinical knowledge with proven test‑prep strategies to help students build confidence across all HESI sections, including Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, Math, Reading Comprehension, Grammar, and Vocabulary. My background includes service as a Lead Preceptor and Charge Nurse in the emergency department, where I developed educational materials and mentored new nurses through complex clinical scenarios. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Eastern Michigan University and, an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from St. Clair County Community College. I maintain active certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). My combined clinical and instructional expertise allows me to explain difficult topics in simple, practical ways—so students not only pass the HESI but also enter nursing school with strong foundational knowledge.
NCLEX

NCLEX

As a Registered Nurse with over 7 years of clinical experience and a strong background in mentoring nursing students, I specialize in helping future nurses pass the NCLEX with clarity, confidence, and strategy. I know firsthand how overwhelming nursing school can be—and how to break down complex material so it finally makes sense. I’ve helped students master the most challenging NCLEX topics, including pharmacology, pathophysiology, medical‑surgical nursing, dosage calculations, and prioritization and delegation. My approach focuses on critical thinking, content retention, and smart test‑taking strategies tailored to how the NCLEX really works. We’ll focus on: Understanding NCLEX question logic—how to identify keywords and eliminate distractors. Applying nursing concepts rather than memorizing facts. Developing time management skills for the adaptive test format. Building test endurance with realistic practice and review techniques. Strategic cramming sessions for focused, high‑yield study before your test date. I’ll teach you how to analyze questions like a nurse, not just a student. Together, we’ll build a plan that aligns with your strengths, fills knowledge gaps, and helps you walk into your NCLEX exam feeling fully prepared. Pass the NCLEX with confidence—let’s get you across the finish line.
Nursing

Nursing

With over 7 years of emergency and critical care nursing experience and 11 years as a paramedic, I bring real‑world clinical insight to every tutoring session. I help nursing students master NCLEX prep, pharmacology, pathophysiology, medical‑surgical nursing, dosage calculations, and test‑taking strategies that build confidence and lasting understanding. As an active Registered Nurse in high‑acuity Emergency Department and ICU settings, I’ve taught countless nursing students and new graduates how to think critically, manage time effectively, and apply classroom knowledge to patient care. I understand what it takes to succeed under pressure—because that’s my daily reality. I specialize in simplifying complex topics like fluid and electrolyte balance, cardiac rhythms, trauma, and medication administration. You’ll learn techniques to retain key nursing concepts, strengthen critical‑thinking skills, and organize study time efficiently. For those on tight timelines, I offer focused, high‑impact “cramming” sessions designed to help you absorb and synthesize essential test material fast. Whether you’re preparing for the NCLEX, struggling with pharmacology or pathophysiology, or looking to improve clinical reasoning, I’ll tailor our sessions to your personal learning style. My goal is to turn difficult material into knowledge you can recall easily in exams and in practice. Let’s work together to sharpen your nursing knowledge, improve your test performance, and take your confidence to the next level.
Pharmacology

Pharmacology

After I aced the class they asked me to tutor nursing students. Now I precept new grads and nursing students in the emergency room. I have a lot of real-world pharmacology experience.

Paula gets it done!

What can I say, I was down in the dumps and really didn't have a plan with where and what I should study for my NREMT. I reached out to Paula and she was there for me in every way. Gave me confidence, course of action, support and expertise to really hone in on the pertinent methods and information that helped me succeed. I can officially say that I am a EMT now because of her. Will be using her for Paramedic next!
