I'm Emily! I graduated cum laude as an Honors student with a Bachelor's degree in Writing. My degree focused on technical, creative (fiction, nonfiction poetry), and research-based writing and editing, and I worked for two years as a writing consultant for undergraduate and graduate students.

I have experience in MLA, APA, and Chicago style citations, and I am currently a professional technical writer with two year's experience in proposal management and copyediting. I strive to make writing as accessible and enjoyable for my students as possible, by taking a conversational approach to my tutoring and allowing students the ability to maintain their identity while meeting necessary requirements for projects.

In addition to my college turning experience, I also have experience in editing and publishing (Chicago Manual of Style for copyediting) and have been published in national literary journals for poetry and fiction.

I also have experience with business writing and document management, including resumes and cover letters, and have worked as a social media content creator for nonprofits, such as the Girl Scouts. I have also been trained in news and magazine journalism, and my current role as a technical writer has made me adept at proposal and grant writing as well.
