Hello! I’m Kayleah (pronounced “Kay-lee-ah”) (MS in Biostatistics, BA in Statistics with a minor in Mathematics).
A LITTLE ABOUT ME & STATISTICS/BIOSTATISTICS/STATISTICAL COMPUTING: I obtained my Masters in Biostatistics, during which and after, I tutored students of all levels. I have experience tutoring AP, college-level, and graduate & doctoral-level statistics. I am SAS-certified and am proficient in R, SPSS, and Excel. I also offer Statistical Consulting Services at a higher price point.
During undergrad, I tutored in a math & stats walk-in center as well as 1:1 through the Student Services Department. In Grad School, I continued to tutor and began consulting for businesses as well as students working on dissertations. Following school, I worked full-time, as a Clinical Biostatistician for six years. Throughout this time, I continued to tutor and consult on the side. Today, I am focusing on tutoring, which allows me to stay home with my new son.
TUTORING PHILOSOPHY: For over a decade, I’ve enjoyed tutoring. Rapport is pivotal to the success of the student, and I value many of the relationships I have formed through tutoring. For me, it is incredibly rewarding to see a person succeed where they once felt they couldn't, to watch their confidence grow, to see them improve their grades through hard work, and to see someone feel proud of their work and themselves.
SOMETHING UNIQUE WHICH SETS ME APART FROM OTHER TUTORS: I attended six years of Montessori education. This has equipped me with multiple teaching approaches for the student who may benefit from alternative instruction styles. I acknowledge that every person has an individual learning style - or styles - which I aim to discover and accommodate.
BONUS INFO: During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, listening to books, hiking, rock climbing, camping, complex board games, euchre, the occasional craft beer or glass of chardonnay, and funky cheeses.
