Experienced Substitute Teacher

I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies and Education and a minor in Physical Education. I enjoyed my time at Grand Valley State University, and this program gave me many opportunities to improve on my teaching. I did my student teaching at a Middle School and absolutely loved the time there. I was able to grow as a teacher learning new strategies to implement in my future classrooms. I thoroughly enjoyed working with all of the students that I interacted with on a daily basis and still substitute at Hamilton on a consistent basis.

I also had the opportunity to be a teacher assistant at a High School. I was able to interact with a variety of students from different backgrounds, and build a new confidence as an upcoming teacher. Also, I was able to engage with lots of students in a variety of different ways in order to make sure that the students were successful.

I have no experience with tutoring, but feel that my experience at Grand Valley State University will allow me to make a smooth transition into tutoring students. I strive to make sure that students are able to succeed by making connections with the materials they learn and life skills outside of classroom materials.

Having obtained my Bachelor of Science in Social Studies and Education from Grand Valley State University, I feel that I am a qualified educator in the social studies field. Also, Grand Valley gave me the opportunity to student teach and teacher assist in the social studies field. This opportunity has allowed me to improve my craft as a social studies teacher, and has given me the opportunity to work with a variety of different students.
