Education plays a powerful role in shaping the lives of young adults. Throughout my career as a Prosecutor, Juvenile Court Administrator, and criminal defense attorney, I witnessed firsthand how limited educational opportunities can create lasting challenges for students and young people. That experience inspired me to change careers and pursue my passion for teaching. Over the past three years, I have had the privilege of teaching middle school and high school students in American History, World History, Criminal Law, Family Law, and Government. As an educator and mentor, my goal is to motivate, support, and guide students so they feel confident, engaged, and prepared for their future.
I am a graduate of the University of Iowa and Creighton University School of Law, where I developed strong analytical, communication, and writing skills that continue to inform my work as an educator and tutor. My academic background, combined with my professional and teaching experience, allows me to connect real-world concepts to the classroom and help students deepen their understanding of complex ideas in meaningful and practical ways.
My tutoring approach is student-centered, supportive, and highly individualized. I believe the best way to help a student succeed is to understand their learning style, strengths, and areas for growth, and then tailor instruction to meet their specific needs and goals. I maintain open communication with both students and parents, and I am accessible for questions, feedback, and collaboration. I welcome input from families and view tutoring as a team effort, working together to build confidence, improve skills, and create a positive and encouraging learning experience.
