Dear Parents and Students,
I was just slightly above average in high school and the first time I went to college. However, I learned to love learning and became a very successful student as I pursued my second degree (education). By very successful I mean a 3.98 average through Spring Arbor University. I love to teach strategy in how to take tests - very important! My best subjects are up through middle school math (Algebra I), and in science and social students I am considered highly qualified by the State of Michigan. Astronomy is also a strong interest of mine.
I have a summer job where I work at a local state park and spend time outside learning about trees, flowers, animals, and the history of Michigan.
Personally, I am very competitive. However, I understand that not all students are - and they need help. I have over 10 years' experience in teaching - mostly middle school aged students. My goal is to encourage students to be inwardly motivated, as this is the way to succeed!
I'm hoping I will be a good match for someone out there - I want students to reach their full potential and understand the importance of education. Thanks for listening!
