Hello!! My name is Rachel and I was born to be a teacher! I graduated summa cum laude from Central Michigan University and immediately began my teaching journey. My major is Elementary Education-Language Arts and I have a minor in School Health. Throughout my schooling journey, I have not only learned how to TEACH but most importantly, how to learn about every single individual student and what exactly their needs are. I find it extremely important to learn about strengths and weaknesses and then assess where I can strengthen them, and how. Engaging and forming a personal relationship with students is my number one goal at the beginning of any time I have with my students. Forming that bond creates a relationship built on trust, where the student isn't afraid to take chances and make mistakes. Making mistakes only leads to wonderful learning opportunities that we can both learn from.
I have taught pre-school, kindergarten, first/second grade and fifth grade!!! I have a lot of experience with different grade levels, and most certainly feel comfortable with teaching any elementary student. I would love to benefit students that I am working with in not only their grade for the overall subject, but their confidence and well-being as a student.
I am easy to reach, easy to talk to and always understanding of any situation that may come up. I am approachable, and very open and honest and I hope we can form a relationship to help your student become the best they can be!!
I have a great sense of humor, and I love to apply that to my teaching so the student feels comfortable and looks at me as someone that is willing to help them with anything. Using humor opens many doors that lead to lifelong relationships.
