My four years of collegiate basketball and studies have given me the knowledge and skills that aid in leadership, teaching, charisma, and public relations. I’ve faced adversity in the highest degrees, and I feel it pertinent for developing minds to learn life skills that can be taught in a brother and sisterhood being the basketball team. While working together to win, they will also be learning about themselves, any strengths, and untapped potential.

On younger levels of basketball, conditioning isn’t seen as important. However, I would like to make players more active children overall. I can do this by having them hustle (run) to each spot for drills, incorporating drills that require more movement than standing and teaching, and focusing more on fun runs and endurance building. I won’t have young kids lifting weights, but rather would have them doing pushups, jumping jacks, sit-ups, crunches to introduce these exercises to them; encouraging them to do them outside of practice as well. These little things done little by little will separate them from other children physically and mentally.

Example conditioning workout
Stretch (Most important- 10 different stretching techniques to loosen players and prevent injuries)
3 x 10 pushups (on command)
3 x 20 sit-ups
3 x 10 stand-up crunches
3 x 20 jumping jacks (in unison)
Suicide Runs/ Down and backs
