Bio

I've been a technology trainer for over 20 years in Adobe programs, and I am an Adobe Certified Expert in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. I've worked for Adobe Systems Inc., as a Web Community Specialist, as the online expert of their flagship programs: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and FrameMaker.
Since 2009, I have been a member of the faculty at Schoolcraft College in Livonia, MI., where I teach Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat Professional.

I've worked for Adobe Systems Inc., as a Web Community Specialist, as the online expert of their flagship programs: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and FrameMaker.

I won't try to dazzle you with how much I know, but in turn will teach you what you need in order to work effectively with any of these programs. You will learn real-world application of the program features.
And, most importantly, you will learn what you want and need in order to accomplish your goals.

My students have ranged in age from high-school age to 87 years of age.

My approach will take you through learning material that is relevant to your needs, as well as the ins and outs of topics that are important to you. You will become familiar with the "what if's", shortcuts, surprises, and tips that help you work smarter, faster and confidently in the the knowledge of your newfound skills.

I have worked in the Desktop Publishing field since 1990, when I got my first Mac. Since then I have created numerous documents: newsletters, brochures and manuals, for clients and myself. I have created the layouts for several books, designed and created posters, calendars, web pages, as well as worked with clients on designing the interior text and graphics contents of their books. This included editing and formatting text and creating or editing graphic images. I have a bachelor's degree in Architecture and am a Certified Interior Designer, where we are taught the elements and fundamentals of design. These transferable tools helped greatly in the field of Desktop Publishing. As a current instructor at Schoolcraft College, and consultant, I work regularly with graphic programs like Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat to create training and supplemental documents.

I have worked with the Macintosh computer since 1990, doing everything from CAD drawings to newsletters. I currently own Apple devices like Laptop, iPad, iPod, iPhone, Monitors, WiFi devices. Since 1993, I have been a member of MacGroup-Detroit Apple User Group, which is the largest Mac User Group in Michigan. I am a weekly blog contributor of software and hardware reviews for MacNews, as well as a presenter at MacGroup-Detroit meetings. I create video tutorials explaining how to use the Mac operating system apps and iOS software/apps.

Pleasant but no-nonsense tutor

Chita Hunter taught me more about formatting books in one hour than I learned in the couple of years working on my own. While reviewers of my books correctly criticized their readability on iPads, they cited the wrong reasons for their correct criticism. Chita showed me how reading fixed layout eBooks in landscape view can be more like watching a single TV screen than reading a printed book with a fixed gutter at the binding of opposing pages. Also, the leading of type as well as the best font is very important in giving each page enough air to avoid a congested appearance. Chita is a pleasant, no-nonsense tutor that I highly recommend for problems involving Adobe Indesign.

Great at working and understanding my needs

I enjoyed working with Chita. She was very knowledgeable about my issue and was able to help me understand how to better use the programs that I was using. Chita was able to help me navigate Photo Shop that will allow me to work indepedently in the future. If I have issue in the future, I would differently use Chita again.
