I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology from Grand Valley State University, graduating with a 3.94 GPA. I am currently a graduate student in the medical field, which allows me to apply advanced scientific knowledge daily and maintain a strong foundation in biology and anatomy. My academic background has provided me with a deep understanding of core sciences, and I tutor biology, anatomy, and Algebra with a focus on helping students build lasting conceptual understanding rather than relying solely on memorization. I have take Masters level biology and anatomy courses, including a cadaver lab, along with math throug Calculus II.

For two years, I served as a teaching assistant for both microbiology and general biology courses. In this role, I led review sessions, facilitated small group discussions, and worked one-on-one with college students to reinforce complex topics. My approach emphasizes concept mapping, breaking down complicated systems into organized visual frameworks so students can see how ideas connect. I focus on identifying knowledge gaps early and tailoring sessions to each student’s learning style, whether they need structured exam preparation, step-by-step problem solving, or broader conceptual clarification.

In addition to my academic teaching experience, I have worked as a volunteer hockey coach for 13-year-olds. Coaching has strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, motivate young learners, and adapt explanations to different maturity and skill levels. Whether working with middle school, high school, or college students, I prioritize patience, clarity, and confidence-building so students not only improve their performance but also develop independence in their learning.
