I am a freshman at Michigan State University as of Fall 2019. I have tutored family friends that have seen a great improvement in their studies. Though my tutoring experience is not professional, I have been a part of school organizations that help tutor kids at the local library. I also believe that being a college student would allow me to connect with a students that are a part of the younger demographic and provide a program of help molded to them. I have a full understanding of the topics and can help the student through various, unorthodox learning methods that help me and also generic learning skills. I have also created practice worksheets in the past for students that I have tutored, which further the understanding of the topic at hand.
Tutoring may seem like a negative aid in education. Personally, I think tutoring is a great help for struggling students or even those who want to learn further. I love spreading knowledge to the youth because, as said by many, the youth is our future, and providing them with the right tools and knowledge is key for us to improve our society. Helping others is another one of my favorite things; I also favor math because of how easily I can understand it. These to interests combined give me the knowledge to help others learn math as well, making tutoring a tool for success.
I have been two years ahead in math throughout my high school career. I received a 5 on the AP Calculus AB test, and received an average of an A in AP Statistics, Precalculus, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2 w/ Trigonometry.
