Hello!! It may sound cliché, but learning is a highly individual process. I will adjust to what works best for you and promise to explore new approaches if what we are doing isn’t working for you. Hello!! It may sound cliché, but learning is a highly individual process. I will adjust to what works best for you and promise to explore new approaches if what we are doing isn’t working for you. For example, most problems in economics and calculus can be solved more than one way, often graphically or algebraically, and students usually understand one route much better than the other. Everything we do will be tailored to your goals, motivations, and timeline. At the start, we will do a diagnostic, see where you are, and build from there.
I am a current fourth-year economics PhD student at Michigan State University (Go Green!). I have a master’s in economics from University of Notre Dame (Go Irish!) and I graduated summa cum laude with degrees in Mathematics and Economics from Montana State University (Go Cats!, and wow I just realized that my three schools are kind of uncreative in the cheers department). I scored 170 in the Quant Section of the GRE and had an ACT in the 99th percentile.
I tutored Mathematics in the university drop-in Learning Center at Montana State University (everything from Pre-Algebra to Differential Equations, but specializing in Calculus I-III, and Intro to Statistics) and have spent the last 3 years as a teaching assistant across seven appointments, including intermediate microeconomics, intermediate macroeconomics, international economics, and public revenues. I was the sole or head TA in 5 of those appointments. I wrote and graded exams and problem sets, lectured when the instructor was away, held regular office hours, and worked in the Economics Help Room. For statistics and econometrics, my training includes probability theory, mathematical statistics, and nearly every graduate econometrics course Michigan State’s econ department offers.
Please reach out and I look forward to learning together with you!
