Passionate Mathematics Tutor For All Ages

Hi, my name is Jacob! I am currently a student at Michigan State University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics - Secondary Education, as well as a teaching certification! As a math education major I love sharing math with others, and as such I’m happy to assist as your tutor in whatever way you need, whether that means teaching content, rephrasing / reframing topics in a way that makes sense, or just preparing for assessments!
I have always loved the subject of math, and I've had my fair share of exceptional math teachers, as well as my fair share of not-so-exceptional math teachers; as a result, I've found myself driven to help provide a quality math education for students of all ages in a manner that is progression-based, creative, empathetic, and engaging for the student!
Currently I have been tutoring several university students one-on-one around campus in their mathematics courses for the duration of this school year, aiding them in preparing for assessments and getting ahead on course material. Prior to this year, I have spent the previous two years working as a recreational gymnastics and tumbling coach for students ages 4-22, and as such have ample experience in building progression-based lesson plans that meet students of all ages where they are and help them to achieve their goals!
I am simultaneously extremely passionate about the subject of mathematics itself, as well as the art of sharing my knowledge of the things I care about with others, and as a result am consistently motivated to help my students gain confidence in their abilities and prove that math really isn't that scary after all!
