I hold a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from Eastern Michigan University and have spent my career helping high school students in grades 9–12 build confidence and understanding in mathematics. While I’m certified and experienced in teaching all levels of high school math, my primary focus has been Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Statistics, and AP Statistics—courses I’ve taught multiple times and deeply enjoy.
Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of students, from those who struggle with foundational concepts to advanced learners preparing for AP exams and college coursework. My teaching approach emphasizes building conceptual understanding through clear explanations, visual supports, and real-world connections. I focus on helping students not only master procedures but also understand the “why” behind the math, which leads to lasting comprehension and improved confidence.
In tutoring sessions, I aim to create a positive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking academic risks. I adjust my methods to match each student’s learning style and goals. Whether that means breaking down challenging material step-by-step, reviewing key concepts for an upcoming test, or diving deeper into statistical reasoning and data interpretation, my goal is to help every student reach that moment when math begins to make sense and success feels within reach.
