Greetings!
I am Hollie T. but the majority of my students call me Professor T. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and continued to complete a Master of Science in Basic Medical Sciences from a well know Medical School in my area. I have been teaching for what seems like, my entire life, starting with tutoring my classmates early in my college educational career. Fast forward 20+ years later and you may find me teaching biology department courses at any of our local colleges/universities, as an adjunct professor or guest instructor.
During undergrad, I landed my first paid teaching role as a math tutor at the Math Lab (our tutoring center). Soon after, I was invited to the classroom setting as a teaching assistant for the biology teacher at large public high school in my city. It was then, that I fell in love with teaching!
The age range with which I have the most experience is high school and above. The subjects I specialize in are Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Pathophysiology, Microbiology as well as Nursing School Entrance Exam Prep (HESI, TEAS). I also have expertise in subjects related to health and healthcare provision, such as, Intro to Health and Healthcare Ethics. I can even teach you how to study for other classes!
My approach to helping students varies and is dependent on your individual needs. I start by asking a few clarifying questions about your academic situation, so that I can offer more personalized assistance. I teach my students the concepts they need and then follow up with offering resources to help you strengthen your understanding on your own. I have received 10s of letters, email, and small tokens of appreciation from many students over my 20+ years of teaching and tutoring. I look forward to helping you succeed!
