I am deeply passionate about language and finding new ways to master the ways we communicate.
I started learning German in 2007 and rocketed to a high proficiency in a relatively short time; I was the President of the Delta Epsilon Phi chapter of the German Honor Society, I scored a 4/5 on the Advanced Placement exam of knowledge of the German Language and Culture in 2010, and upon my acceptance to the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, demonstrated a 2-year college proficiency. This spring,(2013) as a member of the Max Kade German Residential Program, I traveled to Berlin and gained the opportunity to use and understand the language as it was spoken in Germany.
The enthusiasm that I have for learning German has taught me to utilize fun, new, and interesting methods of learning a language, and making it as readily at one's disposal as it would be for a native speaker: as a tutor, I aim to teach these methods and endow students with the lifelong skill of being able to communicate and thrive in a globalized world.
