I'm Dr. Catherine Raciti, a physician completing my residency at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital affiliated with the University of Chicago. I graduated as valedictorian of my high school class, earned a full scholarship to Indiana University, and went directly into Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, where I scored higher than 80% of all USMLE test-takers. What I learned through that process changed how I think about learning entirely, and it is the foundation of everything I do with students.
Most students I work with are not struggling because they lack ability. They are struggling because no one has ever shown them how to study effectively. My sessions are built around active recall rather than passive review, because testing yourself produces dramatically better retention than re-reading ever will. Every session starts with a student explaining the material back to me out loud, without notes. That single exercise reveals more about what a student actually knows than hours of highlighted textbooks ever could. From there, we build a personalized plan around the specific gaps we uncover together.
I work one-on-one with high school students preparing for the SAT, ACT, and AP exams, as well as students pursuing pre-med and STEM coursework at the college level. I have worked with students across skill levels, from those trying to catch up to high achievers looking to break into the top tier of their class. I am easy to reach, I respond quickly, and I am happy to answer any questions before scheduling. I would love to hear from you.

Approved Subjects

ACT English

ACT English

I scored high enough on the ACT to earn a full-ride scholarship to college, so I know firsthand what it takes to perform on test day. Since then, I have gone through medical school and multiple high-stakes licensing exams, which means standardized test strategy is something I live and breathe. I help students master both the content and the mental game so they can walk in confident and walk out with a score that opens doors
Anatomy

Anatomy

I am a current medical resident with extensive training in human anatomy through medical school and daily clinical practice. I have applied anatomy in real patient care settings, including interpreting imaging and understanding musculoskeletal and neurologic conditions. My strength is breaking down complex anatomical concepts into simple, high-yield frameworks that students can retain and apply on exams. I focus on helping students understand anatomy clinically, so it sticks long term rather than just memorization.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I'm a physician in residency who tutors on the side, and math has always been the backbone of everything I do clinically. Getting into and through medical school meant surviving years of quantitative coursework, so I know what it takes to build a strong math foundation under pressure. I focus on pre-algebra concepts like fractions, proportions, equations, and order of operations, and I'm big on making sure students actually understand why the steps work rather than just memorizing them
Reading

Reading

I am a medical resident with extensive experience mastering dense reading material quickly and effectively. Through years of academic training, I have developed systems to improve reading comprehension, retention, and critical thinking under time pressure. I specialize in helping students break down complex texts, identify key ideas, and retain information for exams and long-term understanding. I work with students to build efficient reading strategies that improve both performance and confidence.
USMLE

USMLE

I am a physician currently completing residency at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital affiliated with the University of Chicago, and I scored higher than 80% of all test-takers on the USMLE licensing exams. I did not achieve those results by studying longer than everyone else. I achieved them by building a system rooted in active recall, retrieval practice, and disciplined gap identification rather than passive review. I work with medical students and pre-med students on both Step 1 and Step 2 preparation, and I bring the same diagnostic approach to every student: we identify exactly where your knowledge is breaking down, build targeted tools around those gaps, and structure your study time around the methods that the evidence actually supports.

Wonderful

I really like your passion and the way you think. The way you teach and explain things in such detailed ways makes it a lot easier to understand, and it also makes me see things from a different perspective. I appreciate that a lot.
