I encourage students to choose topics that genuinely interest them, because engagement makes learning easier and writing stronger. I use examples of writing as teaching tools, guiding students to identify how specific concepts are working in those examples before applying them to their own work. I also model each concept by writing alongside the student, showing how ideas move from planning to execution. Concepts are revisited and reinforced until students can apply them confidently and independently.
