I am Gina, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor and have completed all required TEACH certification coursework. In addition to my formal education, I have earned certifications in Introduction to Genomic Technology and Python for Genomics Data Science, which strengthen my ability to teach both foundational science concepts and data driven problem solving. I am currently a high school teacher and have been teaching for five years across multiple science disciplines, with a strong emphasis on physics.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students in grades 7 through 12 in a classroom setting, supporting a wide range of learning levels and academic goals. My experience includes teaching physics, physical science, and biology-based topics, where I focus on helping students understand concepts rather than rely on memorization. I use clear explanations, visuals, real world examples, and step by step problem solving to make challenging material more accessible and engaging for students.
In addition to classroom teaching, I have two years of 101 tutoring experience from my time in college, where I tutored introductory science courses and supported students with homework, exam preparation, and concept reinforcement. My approach as a tutor is patient, structured, and adaptable, allowing me to meet students where they are and build both confidence and understanding. I enjoy helping students develop strong problem solving skills and a deeper appreciation for science.
