I am currently completing my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a focus on child and family development, and I’ve spent the past several years working directly with children as an educator, mentor, and academic support provider. My background in psychology helps me understand how children learn, process information, and build confidence—especially when it comes to reading and writing. I use this knowledge to create calm, encouraging learning environments where each student feels capable and supported.

I began teaching in small-group and one-on-one settings, working with students ages 6 to 12 on foundational reading skills, comprehension, and creative and academic writing. My approach combines structure with flexibility: I assess each child’s strengths, learning style, and interests, then tailor lessons that make reading engaging and writing less intimidating. I often incorporate storytelling, real-world connections, and step-by-step writing guidance to help students find their voice and express their ideas clearly.

I also support homeschool families by helping students stay on track academically while making learning meaningful and enjoyable. Whether we’re strengthening phonics skills, improving sentence structure, or working on longer essays, my goal is to help students grow in both skill and confidence. I believe in celebrating progress, encouraging curiosity, and fostering a lifelong love of learning.

I have extensive experience supporting students in reading, writing, and overall academic development, having homeschooled numerous children for approximately five years. During this time, I guided them through foundational reading skills, comprehension, and writing projects, tailoring lessons to their individual learning styles and interests. I focus on creating structured yet engaging lessons that build confidence, foster critical thinking, and make learning enjoyable. My approach emphasizes patience, encouragement, and clear explanations to help students of all ages strengthen their skills and reach their academic goals.
