Baker College of Flint (Occupational Therapy)
I am an Occupational therapist by profession. This has helped me to develop very creative techniques to teach a variety of people of various age groups many new skills in the past. My strengths are my resourcefulness and my creativity. I have worked with children with severe disabilities as well as with the elderly and all the other ages in between. For the past 5 years I have worked at a freestanding outpatient clinic, specializing in hand therapy. Currently I work at the Lapeer District Library as a Substitute Library Assistant.
For the past 4 years I have taught 3- and 4-year-olds at our church's children's program on Wednesday nights, as well as 4-6-year-olds at the MOPS program every other Friday morning. In the past year, I also taught a group of 12 homeschooled students (aged 8-12), a course called "Exposure to the German Culture". I am currently tutoring one 15-year-old homeschooled student German. It gives me great pleasure and satisfaction to see anybody I come into contact with grow and learn. I love using hands-on learning and teaching methods, as I feel that this makes the learning experience for the children come alive.

My Grandchildren are making great progress in learning to speak German. I am very pleased. Additionally the instructor makes it fun to learn so they enjoy their time with her and look forward to each weeks session.
Thanks John! I really enjoy teaching your grandkids!
Wiebke has been tutoring me in German, and I have very much enjoyed her instruction. She's very enthusiastic about teaching German and is patient and kind, too. She's attentive and tailors the lessons to what I've requested to learn. She's always well-prepared for our lessons and shows up early. I would definitely recommend her.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have worked as an occupational therapist for the past 10 years. One year I spent at Michigan School for the deaf, working with severely handicapped children of all ages. Several of these students had ADD/ADHD. I used various sensory integration techniques and prescribed home programs for these students.
I have taught a variety of bible studies in the past 4 years. I have also instructed 3-6 year-olds at our church program for the past 5 years.
I have been working with preschool aged children for the past 6 years as caregiver at MOPS and also as teacher to an average of 15 3-5 year olds at our church Wednesday night program. I have extensive background knowledge of child development as college course work.
