My last academic position was Professor of Anatomy at the Kuwait University Faculty of Medicine. I served as the chairman the Department of Anatomy from January 1, 2008 until February 16, 2016.

I have a student-centered teaching philosophy. My lectures are organized around concepts and I always try to make these interesting and meaningful for students. I am adaptable to any teaching philosophy that an institution or a student may use. I am equally comfortable with lecture-based, problem-based and hybrid curricula. I have experience of teaching all disciplines of Anatomy with equal liking for Gross Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, Human Embryology, Histology, and Cell Biology. During my career I have received two merit awards for Excellence in Teaching; the first at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York (1981-82) and the second at the Aga Khan University, Karachi (1995).

I have taught all disciplines of Anatomy (Gross anatomy, Neuroanatomy, Histology, Huma Embryology) at Mt. Over the years students have praised my work ethics and have developed excellent rapport with students. My former students are working at several hospitals and universities throughout USA.

Whether it is Gross Anatomy or Neuroanatomy, relationships of structures are essential and I encourage students to link structure with function. I use the same appr
