Hi! I'm Elizabeth, and thank you for visiting my profile! I am a certified secondary mathematics teacher and certified special education teacher currently teaching high school math. I graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor's degree in Special Education and am entering my fourth year of teaching. Over the past 10 years, I have worked with students from kindergarten through college in both in-person and online settings, including 5 years of online tutoring experience. I tutor Elementary Math, Prealgebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry. Whether you need help with homework, test preparation, credit recovery, or building a stronger math foundation, I would love to help.
As both a certified math teacher and certified special education teacher, I know every student learns differently. I have experience supporting students with ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, autism, and other learning differences, and I enjoy finding the approach that works best for each student. I tailor every lesson to each student's learning style, strengths, and goals to make math more understandable, engaging, and meaningful.
One of my favorite parts of teaching is helping students build confidence and realize they are capable of succeeding in math. My goal is to help students strengthen their understanding, become more independent problem-solvers, and leave each lesson feeling more confident than when they started. Watching a student gain confidence and realize they can do something they once thought was impossible is one of the most rewarding parts of being a teacher, and it's what I love most about tutoring.
