Hello! My name is Olivia and I am a certified visual art teacher and artist. My fine art background includes painting, drawing, ceramics, fabric art, bookmaking, and more. I enjoy exploring and teaching different art media as well as integrating art historical connections when creating.
Previously I taught middle school and elementary in the classroom and have also taught summer art camp for ages 6-14. Beginning this past year I started tutoring high school drawing and love the one-on-one experience!
In addition to my art background I have extensive experience with writing. My degree in Art History required many hours of writing research papers; I have spent a lot of time honing and developing this skill. I was often asked to proofread writing for others during my college years.
My art qualifications include a BS in art history as well as a minor in sculpture from Kendall College of Art & Design. My program at Kendall was an art history studio track, meaning more than a third of my classes were studio courses. During that time I was able to explore a variety of media. I attained my K-12 Visual Art Education certification from College for Creative Studies. This experience gave me the tools to turn my knowledge of the arts into refined, learner-friendly lessons.
I would be thrilled to hear from you and get a chance to work with you one-on-one to improve your artistic and/or writing skills. My approach to teaching is incorporating the right amount of fun mixed with rigor to make for an awesome experience!
