At work the atmosphere is highly interactive: we work closely with peers, meet with customers, work through requirements, gather feedback, and propose solutions.

C

I developed and supported C programs for hardware data collection, analysis, and display, including custom display controls, interfaces to National Instruments hardware, and TCP/IP connections. That hands-on systems programming is why I can tutor C: I understand both the logic of the language and how it is used in real measurement applications.
C++

I have used C++ professionally for at least 15 years on object-oriented programs for hardware data collection, analysis, and display, including custom controls, National Instruments interfaces, and TCP/IP communications, using classes, templates, and the standard library. That production experience is why I can tutor C++: I can explain both core features and how they appear in working data-acquisition systems.

C#

I have worked in C# and .NET for over 10 years, building applications for hardware data collection, analysis, and display, including custom display controls, National Instruments hardware, and TCP/IP data transfer. That application experience is why I can tutor C#: I can connect language concepts to software that communicates with instruments and users.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I hold an undergraduate degree with a major in Mathematics (and Chemistry) and a Master of Science in Chemistry. While in graduate school I was a teaching assistant for course classes of about 30 students that supplemented the professor’s large lectures; I taught those classes, administered quizzes, and worked directly with undergraduates. Algebra 1 is grounded in the same skills I used as a math major and as a TA: linear equations and inequalities, graphing, systems of equations, exponents, polynomials, factoring, and introductory quadratics. That combination of formal mathematics training and experience explaining quantitative ideas in a classroom setting is why I can tutor Algebra.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I hold an undergraduate degree with a major in Mathematics (and Chemistry) and a Master of Science in Chemistry. While in graduate school I was a teaching assistant for course classes of about 30 students that supplemented the professor’s large lectures; I taught those classes, administered quizzes, and worked directly with undergraduates. Algebra 2 is grounded in the same skills I used as a math major and as a TA: linear equations and inequalities, graphing, systems of equations, exponents, polynomials, factoring, and introductory quadratics. That combination of formal mathematics training and experience explaining quantitative ideas in a classroom setting is why I can tutor Algebra.
C

C

I developed and supported C language programs for hardware data collection, data analysis, and real-time display. This included writing custom display controls, interfacing directly with National Instruments hardware, and managing TCP/IP connections to move data reliably between instruments and the application. The work required careful handling of low-level details such as timing, buffer management, and hardware communication so that incoming data could be captured, processed, and shown accurately. These projects gave me practical experience building robust C code that sits close to the hardware and still presents results clearly to users.
C#

C#

I have worked with C# for over 10 years, using it to develop applications for hardware data collection, analysis, and display. This has included building custom display controls, interfacing with National Instruments hardware through .NET, and managing TCP/IP connections for reliable data transfer. The language and framework have allowed me to create structured Windows applications with clearer user interfaces while still communicating directly with instruments and networks. That combination of more than a decade of practice and real measurement-and-control work lets me explain both C# language features and how they are used in production data-acquisition systems.
C++

C++

I have used C++ professionally for at least 15 years, applying it to programs that collect hardware data, perform analysis, and present results on screen. This work has included building object-oriented applications with custom display controls, interfacing with National Instruments hardware, and managing TCP/IP connections for reliable data transfer. Over those years I have used classes, templates, and the C++ standard library to organize code more clearly and maintain it more easily than was possible in C alone. The combination of long hands-on experience and real hardware-and-networking projects lets me explain both core language features and how C++ is used in production data-acquisition systems.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I hold an undergraduate degree with a major in Chemistry (and Mathematics) and a Master of Science in Chemistry. While in graduate school I was a teaching assistant for course classes of about 30 students that supplemented the professor’s large lectures; I taught those classes, administered quizzes, and worked directly with undergraduates. In addition I tutored students through the university.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I hold an undergraduate degree with a major in Mathematics (and Chemistry) and a Master of Science in Chemistry. While in graduate school I was a teaching assistant for course classes of about 30 students that supplemented the professor’s large lectures; I taught those classes, administered quizzes, and worked directly with undergraduates. Precalculus is grounded in the same skills I used as a math major and as a TA: linear equations and inequalities, graphing, systems of equations, exponents, polynomials, factoring, and introductory quadratics. That combination of formal mathematics training and experience explaining quantitative ideas in a classroom setting is why I can tutor Precalculus
