Hi! My name is Michelle O., my students call me Ms. O! I've been a teacher for 5 and a half years in middle school and high school, although I did most of my education training in elementary schools. I love reading and writing, and I specialize in various disciplines related to English. I'm also certified for TEFL/TESOL and have worked as a community ESL Tutor for a year. My master's degree is in theology and a large majority of my time teaching was in private Christian schools.
I have a Masters from Andrews University and a degree in Elementary Education from Michigan State University. In my free time I enjoy playing my guitar, writing songs, staying fit, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen. I have one cat named Percy who is a great snuggle buddy and adventurer. My goal with teaching is to ensure that students learn, and the best way to do that is to make the time enjoyable.
One thing that makes me an outstanding tutor is my ability to incorporate theater activities, games, and creative arts into the learning process. Since I play the ukulele and guitar I'm also able to incorporate music to help students retain particular information. I try to bring a creative spin to my sessions so that students stay engaged.
Go ahead, book me! I'm looking forward to specializing material just for you! If you're looking to learn with a smile on your face, then I'm the tutor you need! Ready when you are!
