I hold an M.A. in Spanish and have several years of experience teaching and tutoring students in language, writing, reading, and academic communication. My background includes Spanish linguistics, literature, second-language teaching, essay writing, and bilingual communication. I have taught college-level Spanish courses and supported students with grammar, reading comprehension, essay organization, literary analysis, and academic writing in both English and Spanish.
Most of my teaching experience has been with high school and college-age students, especially students ages 16–22. In the classroom, I regularly work with students who are new to language learning, unsure of their writing skills, or in need of more structure and confidence. I also have experience helping students prepare essays, revise research papers, strengthen grammar, and improve their ability to explain ideas clearly. In addition, I completed a Spanish–English interpreter training program, which strengthened my attention to detail, accuracy, and communication across languages.
My tutoring style is structured, patient, and practical. I break difficult material into manageable steps, explain the “why” behind corrections, and adapt each lesson to the student’s needs. For writing and English support, I help students with thesis development, paragraph structure, grammar, reading comprehension, organization, and revision. For ESL/ESOL students, I focus on confidence, clarity, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and real communication. For Spanish students, I help with grammar, conversation, reading, writing, and test preparation.
My goal is to help students feel less overwhelmed and more capable. Whether a student needs help improving an essay, understanding a reading assignment, building confidence in English, or succeeding in Spanish class, I aim to make each session clear, encouraging, and useful.
