I hold a PhD in Chemistry from Indiana University and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Louisville. My academic and professional experience has provided me with a strong foundation across chemistry, including general chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, physical chemistry, and related areas. My research experience has involved advanced analytical techniques and mass spectrometry, giving me both a deep understanding of chemistry and extensive experience applying chemical principles to real-world scientific problems.

For two years at Indiana University, I worked as a teaching assistant for introductory chemistry courses, primarily teaching college freshmen. I led discussion sessions with groups of 30 or more students, helping them develop their understanding through guided problem-solving and visual models. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I also taught these sessions through Zoom and held online office hours, gaining experience adapting instruction to an online environment while keeping students engaged. I currently tutor middle school science, AP Chemistry, and college-level chemistry, working with students at different levels and adapting my explanations to their individual needs.

My teaching approach focuses on making difficult concepts approachable and logical. I use visual models, diagrams, and step-by-step problem solving to help students understand not only how to arrive at an answer, but why the solution works. I aim to identify gaps in foundational knowledge and build from there so students become more confident and independent problem solvers.

I hold a PhD in Chemistry from Indiana University and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Louisville, giving me a strong background across general, analytical, physical, and biochemistry. I taught introductory chemistry to college freshmen for two years as a teaching assistant at Indiana University, leading discussion sessions of 30+ students and providing online instruction and office hours during COVID-19. I currently tutor middle school science, AP Chemistry, and college chemistry, using visual models, diagrams, and step-by-step problem solving to make challenging concepts easier to understand. My goal is to help students build both a strong conceptual foundation and the problem-solving skills needed to succeed independently.
